International Memorial Competition, Bologna's Jewish Community, 2015
The memorial is meant to be dedicated to thinking and reflecting on the Shoah. Our proposal is a place that would allow a communicative situation. In this project, the site is inscribed through three formal elements which bear on this questions. The existing Walls, the grid of memorial seatings and the fracture line articulate the irredeemable destruction of a civilization and the necessary, if impossible to realize, desire to stitch the broken pieces together through memory.
